Snorkel Surveys

Snorkel surveys for salmonids were conducted in 2000, 2002, & 2005 on tributary streams in the Siuslaw watershed where landowner permission was granted and visibility is high enough to conduct adequate surveys. The snorkel counts will use the rapid bio-assessment protocol developed for the Oregon Coast. This method is recognized as a standard measure for fish abundance and distribution.

The surveys were funded by the Oregon Water Enhancement Board.
