The ECO Native or Invasive Plants unit incorporates four interdisciplinary lessons to fully explore the importance of native plants and engage students across science, math, English language arts, and art. Upon completion of the unit, students will be able to:

• Discuss the impacts non-native invasive plants can have on ecosystems

• Explain the role humans have had in introducing non-native plants

• Apply math models to estimate propagation of invasive plant species

• Develop persuasive arguments to raise awareness and encourage community action
