Crayfish Workshop

This event has expired

The River Mile Network have developed a crayfish data collection program to monitor species distribution, non-native introduction, and community health of the native crayfish species of the Pacific Northwest. Locally, we are recruiting a volunteer team to assist this effort on an as-available basis.

On March 17th, 10:00 AM to Noon, we will host a Crayfish Workshop to demonstrate monitoring techniques to community members interested in learning about crayfish ecology and submitting data from future volunteer-led monitoring. All necessary equipment will be supplied by SWC staff, as well as water, hot cocoa, and snacks. Driving directions to the site in Deadwood will be provided to registrants.

Volunteers must be willing to sign a release of liability form to participate. For more information, contact Tim at outreach@siuslaw.org or 541-268-3044.
