Invasive Species Removal & Dunes Walking Tour — RESCHEDULED FROM 3/04

Join local experts at the Oregon Dunes Day Use Area on Saturday, March 11th, 12:00-3:30 PM for a Scotch broom removal work party and to learn about this diverse and ever-changing landscape via a guided dunes walk.

Schedule:

  • Introductory talk by expert on viewing platform
  • BYO picnic lunch (bring your own lunch; light snacks and water will be provided)
  • Scotch broom removal work party
  • Dunes walking tour

 

The site is approximately 10 miles south of Florence. The entrance is located on the west side of Highway 101 near mile marker 201. The event is free and open to the public. Parking passes will be provided to attendees.

The dunes tour is not wheelchair accessible; however, the first portion of the presentation is accessible by wheelchair. Wear closed-toe shoes, bring water, and dress for the weather. Participants for the hike must be willing to sign a liability release form and able to walk on sand and uneven surfaces.
